Position Title: [POOL] PT Faculty, Welding

Department: Welding

Appointment Type: Part-Time Hourly

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Location: Albany Campus, Albany, OR

Job Summary

Teach a variety of Welding classes including Basic Print Reading, Welding Fabrication, and Arc Welding. Initial assignment will include emphasis on fabrication projects. This posting is for a pooled position. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool. If a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.

Essential

Duties
  • Teach classes.
  • Instruction to industry standards.
  • Grading and assessment of student written and lab work.
  • Work as a team member of department and deliver curriculum as determined by the chair and faculty.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Manage students in a learning environment.
  • Deliver appropriate safety related instruction.
  • Perform other professional duties as needed.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
    • Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
    Education and Experience
    • Completion of a journey program in welding, pipe fitting or mechanical maintenance trade involving significant welding experience, plus an additional five or more years full-time journey level experience in welding, metal fabrication and layout.
    • Applicants with an associate's degree in welding or related field, completion of a journey program and three years journey level experience will also be considered.

    Salary and Compensation Information

    Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-Time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps rolled once per term if eligible.
