Job Summary

Teach a variety of Welding classes including Basic Print Reading, Welding Fabrication, and Arc Welding. Initial assignment will include emphasis on fabrication projects. This posting is for a pooled position. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool. If a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.

Essential

Duties

Teach classes.

Instruction to industry standards.

Grading and assessment of student written and lab work.

Work as a team member of department and deliver curriculum as determined by the chair and faculty.

Maintain equipment and facilities.

Manage students in a learning environment.

Deliver appropriate safety related instruction.

Perform other professional duties as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Education and Experience

Completion of a journey program in welding, pipe fitting or mechanical maintenance trade involving significant welding experience, plus an additional five or more years full-time journey level experience in welding, metal fabrication and layout.
Applicants with an associate's degree in welding or related field, completion of a journey program and three years journey level experience will also be considered.

Salary and Compensation Information

Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-Time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps rolled once per term if eligible.
