SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST - Special Education and Evaluation Services Program

POSITION OVERVIEW
This exciting and pivotal position is fundamental to the successful evaluation and consultation services offered to our districts. The varied and dynamic duties and responsibilities offer a wide variety of opportunities for professionals to practice. This role is critical for shaping the current and future researched based practices, evaluation systems and support offered by the ESD to our constituent districts.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Valid Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices (TSPC) School Psychologist license, or the ability to obtain, is required.
2. A Master's degree or higher from a NASP accredited school psychologist program and/or hold a current NCSP certificate.
3. Demonstrated successful experience in special education.
4. Demonstrated successful experience in cognitive, behavioral, and academic testing and related skills.
5. Such alternatives to certain above qualifications may apply as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

2. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA and adherence to the competent and ethical educator practices.
3. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.
4. Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
6. Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
7. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
8. Maintain regular attendance punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
9. Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
10. Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.
11. Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conduct individual evaluations in cognitive, behavioral, and academic areas as well as other areas that may be assigned.
2. Provide comprehensive written report of observations, assessment results, and recommendations within the standards established by the Education Evaluation and Consultation Center.
3. Consult with school personnel regarding individual student program needs
4. Consult with district personnel on MTSS, RtI and tiered intervention systems.
5. Assist districts in complying with federal special education law requirements including pre-referral and compliance.
