Location:

Teach and develop early childhood education and development courses for community college students, utilizing approved learning outcomes and instructional technology. Support student learning and growth in a diverse, inclusive environment aligned with LBCC’s mission.
Responsibilities- Teach early childhood education and development classes.
- Prepare and develop course materials and assessments aligned with approved outcomes.
- Assign and grade student work; report student attainment of course outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of the subject area, educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and pursue professional improvement.
- Provide reasonable and consistent out‑of‑class contact with students.
- Participate in department and advisory meetings as assigned.
- Promote and exemplify the mission and values of LBCC in all interactions.
- Master’s degree in Child Development, Human Development and Family Sciences, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Commitment to student‑centered principles and the community college mission.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and populations.
- Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and broader campus community.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States and Oregon residency at time of hire.
- Clear criminal background history (C4).
- Recent college teaching experience.
- Knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience with synchronous and asynchronous online instruction.
- Experience working in early childhood classrooms.
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
- Knowledge of Reggio‑Inspired curriculum, PBIS, infant‑toddler curriculum, cultural sensitivity, reflective curriculum, or loose parts.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, operate a computer, handle instructional materials, and perform light to medium lifting (10–50 lbs).
- Normal hearing and speaking skills; visual acuity for reading materials and computer screens.
- Work performed primarily indoors with occasional outdoor activities and exposure to typical classroom noise and environmental conditions.
- Successful completion of a post‑offer criminal background check.
- Completion of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Form I‑9 within three days of hire.
Courses paid on a per‑credit basis. New Part‑time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale and may be rolled to higher steps once per term, if eligible.
Required Documents- Unofficial academic transcript showing the qualifying degree.
- International credential evaluation if the degree was earned outside the United States.
- Proof of veteran status for veteran’s consideration, if applicable.
- Proof of Oregon residency, if selected.
