Job SummaryThis posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for the pool are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. Applicants must reapply annually to maintain active status.
Responsibilities- Teach core psychology classes (General Psychology PSY 201, 202, 203 and/or Psychology and Human Relations PSY 101).
- Act as a team member of the Social Science Department.
- Communicate objectives, grade accordingly, and report student progress toward goals.
- Work effectively with students and staff from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and age backgrounds, interacting with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable out‑of‑class contact with students.
- Prepare course descriptions, outlines, and other material related to courses taught.
- Establish and maintain a class roll, and teach in conformance with approved course outlines.
- Participate in Student Appraisal of Classroom Learning.
- Master's degree in Psychology or 27 graduate quarter hours in Psychology.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.
- Criminal Background Check - C4.
- Courses are paid on a per‑credit basis. New Part‑time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps being “rolled” once per term, if eligible.
- Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on the pay scale. Instructors new to the College typically start at the rate listed in column 1.
- Table 3 illustrates the compensation per hour for meetings, training, advising, curriculum development, or other related work.
- All new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
- Offers are contingent on the applicant having Oregon residency at the time work commences.
- Employment is subject to completion of a post‑offer criminal background check.
- The College does not offer visa sponsorship; within three days of hire, the employee must complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Form I‑9 confirming authorization to work in the United States.
