Job Summary
Part‑time faculty position to teach core Political Science courses in the Social Science Department. Responsibilities include introductory course instruction and participation in departmental activities.
Responsibilities- Teach introductory Political Science courses as needed.
- Act as a team member of the Social Science Department.
- Communicate course objectives, grade based on those objectives, and report student progress.
- Work effectively with students and staff from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Provide reasonable out‑of‑class contact with students.
- Prepare course descriptions, outlines, and related instructional materials.
- Maintain a class roll and teach in conformance with approved course outlines.
- Participate in Student Appraisal of Classroom Learning.
Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Education and Experience- Master’s degree in Political Science, or 27 graduate quarter hours in Political Science.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective team member.
- Prefer teaching experience in a community college.
- Criminal Background Check - C4.
Courses are paid on a per‑credit basis. New part‑time faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps being “rolled” once per term if eligible. Compensation for meetings, training, advising, curriculum development, and related work is shown on a per‑hour basis. Direct deposit is required.
Benefits and Conditions- Offers of employment are contingent on applicant having Oregon residency at the time work commences.

- Linn‑Benton Community College does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, new employees must complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Form I‑9 confirming authorization to work in the United States.
