Job Summary:
Performs general clerical support duties.
Essential Duties:
General receptionist/clerical duties including but not limited to:
* Telephone-direct calls and taking messages
* Information resources and referral for staff, students and community members.
* Some computer word processing, typing and filing.
* May be asked to work remotely if college is limiting person contact.
* In those situations would be doing student outreach, assisting with social media and data entry.
* Tools of the job may include Multi-line phone, computer, copy machine, poster maker.
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
* Must be able to operate a computer and/or other office equipment.
* May occasional lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
* Work is performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards.
* Considerable time may be spent working at a computer.
* Environment may be loud and hectic at times.
Education and Experience
* Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Must be people oriented, quick learner and detail oriented.
* Should be able to carry out written/verbal instructions, multi-task effectively, communicate well and focus among distractions.
* Willing to learn new things and comfortable communicating with students.
* Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
* Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
