Job Summary: This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for "[POOL]" positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool.
The Parenting Education Faculty, Part‑Time assists in strengthening the parent‑child relationship by increasing parent knowledge of child development, improving parenting skills and support systems, and providing community resources.
- Learn the philosophy and goals for the program.
- Prepare program class content and physical set‑up in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork, including attendance records and evaluation forms.
- Maintain primary responsibility for confidentiality of participants.
- Make phone contact with students.
- Communicate with parent education department and collaborating agencies.
Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. May require arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate keyboard or other office equipment, sufficient visual acuity to recognize alphanumeric characters, good hearing, and well‑developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Counseling, Education, or a related field. Experience teaching adults is required. Applicants who have not achieved this level of education may be considered if they have considerable documented experience and competency in the above‑mentioned fields.

Benefits and CompensationCourses are paid on a per‑credit basis. New Part‑time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps “rolled” once per term if eligible. Compensation per credit and other related work hours are outlined in the Part‑Time Salary Schedule. Instructors new to the College typically start at the rate listed in column 1. All new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
Offers of employment are contingent on the applicant having Oregon residency at the time work commences.
