This posting is for a pooled position. Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in the Anatomy and Physiology field.
- Prepare and develop materials using approved course outcomes in various teaching modalities.
- Complete all administrative tasks associated with teaching: assign and grade student work, maintain communication with students, report attainment of outcomes, maintain records, comply with college policies.
- Keep abreast of developments in the subject area, educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and continuously strive for professional improvement.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
- Exemplify and promote the mission of LBCC.
- Connect students to college support services and resources to promote success and retention.
- Work effectively with students and staff of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages; promote equity and inclusivity.
- Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
- Participate in occasional department and advisory meetings as assigned.
Work performed in an office or classroom with minimal exposure to hazards. May require arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate keyboard or other office equipment. Requires sufficient visual acuity, good hearing, clear speaking ability, and significant time on computer.
Education and ExperienceMinimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in biological sciences or related field with an emphasis of vertebrate anatomy and physiology, OR a master’s degree in another field plus minimum 27 graduate quarter hours in the primary field.
- Provisional:
Bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours in the field and active pursuit of master’s or doctorate. - Related fields include healthcare fields such as nursing, medicine, and physical therapy.
- Prefer recent teaching experience in a community college or university setting.
- Working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems preferred.
- Experience with synchronous and asynchronous online learning preferred.
- Expertise or experience in teaching from a social justice perspective preferred.

Part-time courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale, with steps rolled once per term, if eligible.
- Tables illustrating cost per credit and compensation per hour are available upon request.
All new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit. Offers of employment are contingent on Oregon residency at the time work commences, completion of a post-offer criminal background check, and no visa sponsorship is offered. Within three days of hire, employees must complete Form I‑9 to confirm work authorization.
