School Psychologist Position
This School Psychologist job is based in the Albany to Newport, Oregon area, offering a unique chance to serve diverse K-12 students while enjoying the best of both the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Coast. From Albany's historic riverfront and community-focused neighborhoods to Newport's sandy beaches, coastal trails, and marine life, this region provides an appealing Pacific Northwest lifestyle with year-round outdoor recreation and a relaxed, friendly feel.
In this School Psych role, you will be an integral member of a collaborative special education and student support team. You will conduct psycho educational evaluations, participate in child find and eligibility meetings, and help develop data-driven interventions for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Your typical day may include assessments, team meetings, consultation with teachers, and brief student counseling or skill-building sessions.
Assignments may span elementary through high school settings, with a caseload structured to support manageable student ratios across one or more campuses. You will help implement RTI/MTSS, support positive behavior interventions, and provide clear, accessible recommendations that support inclusive practices. School Psychologists here are valued as key problem-solvers and advocates, with opportunities to shape systems-level supports. The schedule follows the school calendar with weekday, school-day hours, allowing a balanced lifestyle and time to enjoy the region's amenities.
When not in schools, you can explore Albany's local restaurants, parks, and historic districts, or head west to Newport for beaches, coastal viewpoints, and the vibrant harbor area.
