OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITYProgram Analyst 1 – Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) Coordinator Albany, OR – Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility/Jackie Winters Transitional Program (JWTP)
Join our team at the Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility as a VESOY Coordinator! This role helps prepare older youth in the Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) program for successful futures by providing career exploration, workforce development, and hands-on learning opportunities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and employers, this position connects youth with meaningful work-based learning experiences that build the skills, confidence, and experience needed for long-term success.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating and administering the Career and Technical Education program for VESOY youth.

Building and maintaining VESOY work programs on the Oak Creek Campus.

Facilitating and teaching NIOSH training and Safety Vignettes in collaboration with Unit Leadership Teams.

Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills;

ORAny combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Required:

Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

Required Skills:

Experience teaching career and technical education curriculum and administering assessments.

Has knowledge and network of businesses that are willing to offer youth work experience.

Must be able to research and navigate the internet.

Able to motivate youth toward their post secondary education goals.

Experience recruiting volunteers to share their experiences/trades and educating youth on possible career tracks

Experience assisting with the transportation and supervision of youth or other client populations during off-site educational, vocational, employment, recreational, or similar community-based activities. Experience performing these duties within the Department of Corrections or a juvenile justice setting is preferred.
