POOL PT Faculty, Business

Job Summary

Position:
Part‑time Faculty – Business Management (pooled). Applicants will remain in a pool until a position becomes available. Candidates must reapply annually.

• Teach courses in the business management curriculum such as general business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and accounting.
• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes and a variety of teaching modalities.
• Complete all administrative tasks: assign and grade student work, maintain student records, report outcomes, and comply with college policies.
• Keep abreast of developments in the subject area, educational technology, and innovative teaching techniques, and pursue professional improvement.
• Establish and maintain consistent out‑of‑class contact with students.
• Promote the mission of LBCC and support student success and retention.
• Work effectively with students and staff of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, promoting equity and inclusivity.
• Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team and participate in departmental meetings.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal safety hazards. Requires arm, hand, and finger dexterity, good visual acuity, hearing, and speaking ability. Extensive computer use.

• Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, or related field, OR a master’s degree in another field with a minimum of 27 graduate quarter hours in the primary field.
• For career technical education courses: appropriate degree and 4–7 years of successful work experience.
• Provisional hiring:
  Bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours in the applicable field and active pursuit of a master’s or doctorate. Provisional status until completion of qualifying degree.
• Preferred:
  Recent teaching experience in a community college or university; working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems; experience with synchronous and asynchronous online instruction; experience teaching from a social justice perspective.

• Criminal background check (C4).

Paid on a per‑credit basis. Part‑time faculty begin at Step 1 of the pay scale with steps rolled each term. Additional compensation for meetings, training, advising, and curriculum development is detailed in the pay scale tables.
