Position Overview

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Five years of successful experience in K-12 education, behavioral health, or a related field.
Experience working as a member of a classroom team.
Practical understanding of core concepts and methods regarding trauma-informed care.
Demonstrated ability to utilize word processing and database/spreadsheet software with accuracy.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

Post-secondary education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field.
Experience working with children or adolescents in a therapeutic, educational, or behavioral health setting.
Bilingual oral and written communication skills.

Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.

Maintain regular attendance punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.

Utilize the teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.

Ability to lift, carry or transport up to 40 lbs. and have the strength and agility to assist children with special needs.

Must be able to kneel, crouch, sit and move from the floor to standing, sit on child sized furniture while working with children throughout the day.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.

Ability to provide own transportation to school, preschools, community settings, as deemed necessary.

Essential Functions

Support students with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs using structured, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approaches that promote safety, stability, and success.

Establish and maintain positive, therapeutic relationships with students while serving as a consistent, appropriate role model and source of support.

Implement behavior support plans, safety plans, and IEP-aligned strategies with fidelity under the direction of licensed staff and Behavior Consultants.

Apply evidence-based practices, including Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), antecedent-behavior-consequence models, and positive reinforcement to improve student outcomes.

Utilize de-escalation strategies, crisis response techniques, and emotional regulation to maintain safety and stability in high-stress or volatile situations without personalizing student behavior.

Collect, track, document, and analyze behavioral and instructional data accurately to monitor progress, inform decisions, and support plan adjustments.

Communicate effectively with Behavior Consultants, teachers, and specialists to share feedback, coordinate supports, and sustain positive working relationships.

Support classroom staff in implementing behavior strategies through modeling, prompting, training, and reinforcement of effective practices.
