Job Summary:This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for “[ POOL ]” positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool.
Academic Success Coach assists students in developing skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in college. Academic Success Coaches provides guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies to help students with varying backgrounds to excel academically and make the most of their college experience. This position will provide individualized and small group instruction to augment student’s strategic learning skills in college.
Essential Duties:Working Conditions:
- Requires the ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, distribute class materials and to communicate in writing with students.
- Requires ability to comprehend written and spoken language, accurately processing words and numbers, in person and via the telephone.
- Must be able to move among students in the work environment to provide individualized support.
- Work is performed in a high-activity instructional service area in involving background conversations, frequent multitasking, frequent interruptions, and a focus on immediate response to students’ diverse needs.
- Moderate time is spent working at a computer.
- Work hours may occasionally include night or weekend hours.
- Assignments may include any LBCC campus or center location.
