Leidos is seeking a Material Scientist to develop and evaluate advanced materials that enable secure, resilient IT, cyber, and engineering solutions for government and commercial clients. You will design experiments, characterize materials, and translate findings into deployable products supporting national security, health, and infrastructure missions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will apply data-driven methods, modeling, and simulation, document results, and present technical findings.

Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to develop and characterize advanced materials for IT, cyber, and engineering applications.
- Analyze material properties, performance, and reliability using modeling, simulation, and laboratory testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and cyber teams to integrate material solutions into complex systems.
- Document methods, results, and conclusions in technical reports, presentations, and customer deliverables.
- Support proposal development, requirements definition, and technical reviews for R&D programs.
- Apply data-driven approaches and statistical methods to optimize material performance and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and security standards in all laboratory and project activities.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of innovation, integrity, and continuous learning.
