PCT - Pacific Cast Technologies is seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer to support advanced aluminum investment casting operations in Salem, OR. In this role, you will design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot PLC- and HMI-based control systems for furnaces, robotics, and automated equipment. You will analyze process data to improve safety, quality, and throughput, while ensuring compliance with aerospace and industrial standards.
Working in a precision-driven, collaborative environment, you will partner with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to implement control upgrades, support continuous improvement, and train plant personnel.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and integrate PLC and HMI control systems for foundry and machining equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial control systems and instrumentation
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to implement automation upgrades
- Analyze process and equipment data to improve safety, quality, and throughput
- Ensure controls compliance with aerospace, industrial, and safety standards
- Develop and maintain electrical/control schematics, documentation, and standards
- Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and systems
- Train maintenance and operations personnel on control system use and troubleshooting
Required Skills
- PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar)
- HMI/SCADA configuration and deployment
- Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, etc.)
- Electrical design and control panel layout
- Instrumentation and process control (sensors, drives, PID)
- Troubleshooting of automation and control systems
- Data acquisition and analysis for process improvement
- Reading and creating electrical schematics (Auto
- CAD or similar)
- Safety systems and interlocks design
- Root cause analysis and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma)
