Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, Office Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate medical record management and revenue cycle processes. Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision) diagnosis codes, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) procedure codes.
  • Ensure accurate entry of billing information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining up-to-date patient data.
  • Verify insurance coverage, submit claims electronically, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and compliance standards to ensure precise documentation and billing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary for accurate coding.
  • Prepare detailed reports on billing activities, claim status, and collections to support revenue cycle management.
  • Patient collections, accounts receivables.
  • Miscellaneous front office duties as needed, such as helping with reception duties when necessary.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical records management.
  • Proficiency in ICD coding systems (ICD-9 and ICD-10) and CPT coding procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical billing workflows, insurance claim submission, and follow-up procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation and billing purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and data entry.
  • Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and translate it into compliant billing codes.
