Required:
Prior experience minimum of 6 months school based experience within the past 2 years with covering EI/ECSE and/or school age providing services and evals
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide related therapy services within a public school setting. This school-based OT role involves working with students receiving special education services
, supporting their physical, emotional, sensory, and self-care development to help them achieve IEP goals.
- Conduct assessments using diagnostic tools to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, perceptual, sensory-motor, and self-care skills.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, including teachers, therapists, and families.
- Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs.
- Deliver therapy sessions through individual, group, or consultative models based on IEP requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
- Support student independence and participation in the academic environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid State Occupational Therapy License
- Educational/Teacher Certification if mandated by state guidelines
- Experience in pediatrics, sensory integration, neurodevelopmental therapy (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
- Prior experience working in school-based OT roles
- Understanding of IDEA and state-specific special education regulations
- Skilled in writing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Familiarity with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and other disabilities
