TIG Welder Entry Level - Student​/Recent Graduate

Job Summary

Student/Recent Graduate TIG Welder - work in an argon chamber on titanium castings for the aerospace industry.

• Titanium TIG welding in a chamber to repair castings, following all applicable procedures.
• Use tools such as calipers and profile templates to accurately repair castings.
• Work with the team on rework plans to make castings conform to specification.
• Use a grinder to shape tungsten.
• Load and unload castings from the chamber.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a formal welding program.
• Pass a welding test within six weeks of employment.
• Pass an annual eye exam.
• Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull (to place castings in and out of the tank) with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Basic high‑school level math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Able to use small, fine tools.
• Good attendance record.
• Requires continuous mental and/or visual attention to detail.
• Ability to understand measurements and read and use measurement tools correctly.
• Team player and self‑motivated.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• HS diploma or equivalent GED required; candidates without this who possess relevant experience may be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Solid job history of more than one year preferred at previous or recent employer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Willing to undergo a pre‑employment background check.

The job is performed under reasonably good working conditions with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.

• Depends on current enrollment status of candidate.
• Part‑time schedules available for students.
• Full‑time schedule typically swing or weekend shift.
• Overtime available based on business needs.
