The Manual Lathe Machinist is a full-time non‑exempt position.
Swing Shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am
Swing shift $22 - $36 hourly plus $2 shift differential

While not inclusive, this position will provide support in the following areas of the Operations Department:
Responsibilities- Programming: Obtain approval before changing or updating programs, maintain program logs, set up mills and lathes by entering instructions (zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, conditional switches). Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry and trigonometry; plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings and GD&T.
- Machining: Execute directions from the supervisor, monitor and protect company assets, use appropriate tooling, set up mills and lathes (three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, vises, tools, attachments, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, tramming heads). Load feed mechanisms, maintain safety procedures, complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and notify the supervisor of repairs.
- Verification of Product: Verify settings by measuring positions and first‑run parts, observe drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread‑chasing; take measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot, adjust, re‑program controls, sharpen and replace tools, and adhere to quality assurance procedures. Escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor.

- Education: High School diploma or GED required;
Preferred associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field, or trade certification or apprenticeship. Preferred five (5) years experience as a Machinist in a precision machine shop. - Computer

Standing for the majority of the day; walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, handling, fingering, reaching, lifting, pulling are necessary throughout the day.
Work EnvironmentIndustrial machine shop/production facility; loud noises, sharp edges, oil and coolant throughout the workday.
