Responsibilities
- Ensure that the manufactured and assembled products start and finish within budget and on time.
- Use and monitor KPIs for leadership and team members that measure success and daily goal achievement.
- Participate in the hiring and training of team members within each department.
- Create a daily production schedule, measuring actual results versus plan.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Maintain product quality guidelines as set by engineering and management.
- Motivate and mentor employees, providing support and guidance.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards to evaluate each department’s efficiency and effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate process flows within each department and coordinating functional areas.
- Implement and maintain inventory control metrics, cycle count tracking, and disposition of drop material and scrap.
- Implement policies and procedures that improve day‑to‑day production.
- Own the production schedule, coordinating efforts between engineering, purchasing, and sales.
- Ensure work environments are adequate and safe.
- Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to teams and supervisors.
- Monitor production, resolve issues as they arise, and report metrics weekly to the management team.
- Improve customer service and satisfaction through quality and on‑time delivery.
- Lead coordination and integration of efforts among production control, purchasing, engineering, technology, and customer service to produce smoother workflow and more cost‑effective business processes.
- Set direction and produce plans to meet plant goals and objectives.
- Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in metal fabrication and manufacturing.
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- Welder experience (preferred).
Demonstrates expertise in production management, including scheduling, KPI monitoring, and quality control within metal fabrication and manufacturing environments. Strong leadership capabilities in team development, communication, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
