Grants And Program Financial Coordinator

The Grants and Program Financial Coordinator is a pivotal role at Family Tree Relief Nursery, designed for a dynamic individual who excels in grant writing initiatives and financial stewardship. This position requires a proactive leader who is not only a skilled writer but also a strategic thinker capable of identifying and pursuing funding opportunities that propel the organization forward. Collaborating closely with Senior Directors, you will develop compelling proposals, ensure compliance with grant requirements, and contribute to the financial growth of our programs.

This role also involves representing the organization at community events, forging partnerships with other nonprofits, and being an advocate for our mission. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, a robust understanding of the nonprofit funding landscape, and a relentless commitment to enhancing program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Writing (50%):

  • Proposal Development:
    Research, draft, and submit high-quality grant proposals to diverse funding sources, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and program goals.
  • Develop and maintain a grant proposal calendar to track submission deadlines and required documentation.
  • Review and edit proposals for clarity, coherence, and adherence to funder guidelines.
  • Funding Research:
    Continuously identify and assess potential grant opportunities, maintaining a database of relevant funders and their requirements.
  • Analyze trends in funding to identify emerging opportunities that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive funding prospectus to share with the team for ongoing planning.
  • Collaborative Writing:
    Work with program managers and staff to collect data, stories, and information necessary for compelling proposals.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions with stakeholders to gather insights and enhance the quality of proposals.
  • Ensure that all proposals are reviewed by relevant parties before submission to incorporate diverse perspectives.

Program Support and Financial Oversight (25%):

  • Funding Coordination:
    Assist in identifying and securing funding opportunities to support existing programs, working closely with Program Leaders to ensure funding aligns with program needs.
  • Collaborate with Program Leaders to track and manage funding allocations effectively, ensuring adherence to grant requirements and timelines.
  • Program Evaluation Support:
    Help develop metrics and processes for evaluating program effectiveness and impact, ensuring compliance with grant-related reporting.
  • Collaborate with Program Leaders to set measurable goals and benchmarks for program success.
  • Analyze program data to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare timely and comprehensive reports for funders, detailing program outcomes, challenges, and future plans.
  • Compile quantitative and qualitative data to provide a holistic overview of program effectiveness.
  • Develop visual presentations of program results to facilitate clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Training and Guidance:
    Provide support and training to staff on grant management best practices and program documentation requirements.
  • Create training materials and resources to equip staff with the knowledge necessary for effective grant processes and compliance.
  • Conduct workshops and coaching sessions to enhance staff skills in grant tracking and reporting.

Organizational Support and Community Engagement (15%):

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Represent Family Tree Relief Nursery in meetings with funders and community partners, effectively communicating program needs and successes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and support across all programs.
  • Develop compelling communication materials that highlight program successes and funding needs for stakeholder meetings.
  • Grant Coordination:
    Collaborate with the Program Outreach Coordinator to align efforts in securing funding opportunities and represent the organization at community events, including tabling and networking functions.
  • Assist in preparing outreach materials and presentations for community engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of community engagement efforts to refine future strategies.
  • Administrative Duties:
    Organize materials for grant submissions and program meetings, assisting in maintaining accurate records related to grant activities.
  • Implement a systematic filing process to ensure easy access to grant-related documents and reports.
  • Regularly update the database of grant activities to reflect progress and outcomes.

Other Duties (10%):

  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or the Senior Directors to support the overall goals of Family Tree Relief Nursery.
