Position Summary The Industrial Reliability Technician II is responsible for independently performing industrial reliability services including precision lubrication, contamination control, filtration, hydraulic system restoration, automatic lubrication system installation, fuel polishing, and condition monitoring. This position serves as the lead technician on assigned projects and is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work while representing the company in a professional manner.

Industrial Reliability Technicians are expected to work independently on routine projects, lead small crews when required, identify opportunities to improve customer equipment reliability, and mentor less experienced technicians.

Work Schedule Industrial Reliability Services operates around our customers' production schedules, planned maintenance outages, and emergency service needs. As a result, work schedules are not always Monday through Friday or limited to traditional business hours.

Employees should expect varying start times, early mornings, extended workdays, overnight travel, weekend work, and occasional holiday work when required to support customer operations. Flexibility and reliability are essential to the success of this position.

Complete documentation accurately and on time.

Photograph work before, during, and after completion when appropriate.

Present problems with solutions rather than complaints.

Ask for assistance whenever unsure rather than making assumptions.

Take pride in work that reflects professional craftsmanship and long-term reliability.

Primary Responsibilities Safety Perform  all work in accordance with company and customer safety policies.

Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-job planning.

Maintain required certifications and training.

Stop work whenever an unsafe condition exists.

Serve as a Confined Space Entry Supervisor when required.

Promote safe work practices and mentor others in hazard recognition.

Reliability Services Perform and lead work involving:

Precision lubrication

Oil changes

Oil sampling

Fuel polishing

Offline filtration

Kidney loop installation

Varnish removal through filtration

Hydraulic reservoir teardown, cleaning, and restoration

Breather upgrades

Chain lubrication systems

Automatic lubrication system installation and commissioning

Thermal imaging inspections

Basic condition monitoring

Equipment inspections and contamination control

Project Execution Lead assigned field projects from start to completion.

Review work scope before beginning work.

Coordinate daily activities with customers.

Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to department standards.

Verify proper operation of equipment before leaving the site.

Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project.

Customer Relations Represent the company professionally at all times.

Build relationships with established customer contacts.

Recognize when management involvement is appropriate.

Communicate project progress to customer representatives.

Identify and document opportunities for additional reliability improvements.

Report potential additional work to management with photographs and supporting information.

Escalate new customer relationships, change-order discussions, pricing questions, and customer disputes to management.

Documentation Complete accurate and timely:

Daily service reports

Time reporting

Parts usage

Job documentation

Before-and-after photographs

Safety documentation

Recommendations for future work Documentation is expected to be complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

Equipment & Vehicle Responsibility Maintain assigned company vehicle by:

Keeping inventory organized and stocked.

Documenting replenishment needs.

Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.

Keeping the vehicle clean and inspection-ready.

Reporting damaged or missing equipment promptly.

Leadership & Mentoring Lead Tech I personnel and laborers on assigned work.

Train and develop less experienced technicians through instruction and example.

Demonstrate professional craftsmanship in every installation.

Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

Set the standard for professionalism on customer sites.

Authority & Decision Making An Industrial Reliability Technician II is expected to exercise independent judgment while operating within established company procedures.
