Benefits

  • Salary non‑exempt, $50,000–$61,000 per year
  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, evenings required

  • Signing bonus $3,500 ($1,500 on first paycheck, $2,000 after six months)
Responsibilities
  • Manages client flow in the Albany office with minimal supervision
  • Manages all aspects of a case from entry to discharge
  • Evaluates patients’ physical and mental behaviors
  • Develops appropriate treatment and recovery plans
  • Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions
  • Monitors patients over time to assess treatment progress
  • Collaborates with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and other agencies as appropriate
  • Identifies behaviors that interfere with treatment
  • Assists primary caregivers in managing addiction‑related behavior
Requirements
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I or II (CADC‑I or CADC‑II)
  • Previous experience treating substance use disorders
  • Application of SAMHSA best practice indicators
  • In‑depth knowledge of drug and alcohol testing and monitoring treatment plans
  • Self‑starter, able to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and compassionate nature
  • Ability to work evenings
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Associate degree in chemical dependency counseling or bachelor’s degree with coursework in chemical dependency
  • Experience with electronic health record systems such as Carelogic
  • Experience with co‑occurring mental health disorders
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
