Job Description
This position is responsible for the supervision of the administrative unit who support administrative tasks for the department of social services. This consists of six full time and one part time position. This position recruits, trains and manages new employees in the administrative unit. This position has a thorough understanding of office procedures. This position is responsible for overseeing all purchases based on fiscal policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for collecting and compiling data for the preparation and submission of the agency’s financial reimbursement as required and completes and submits the Medicaid transportation report. These reports must be completed according to correct accounting and budgeting procedures. This position assists the Administrative Officer in detailing the budget proposal to the Director. This position assists the Director in the absence of the Administrative Officer.

Considerable knowledge of office techniques; accounting; ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing, considerable knowledge of effective supervisory practices and ability to plan and supervise the work of others. Ability of analyze, interpret, recommend and implement policy and procedural guidelines. Skills in organizing workflow and coordinating activities.
Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent and five years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative experience including one year of
administrative or office management experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and three years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative experience including one year of administrative or office management experience; or completion of a four-year
program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration or other related field and six months of administrative or office management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
