Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis, as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college‑level courses, which may include distance‑learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face‑to‑face with the possibility of remote instruction. Instruct entry level Health Information Management course(s) to prepare students to take the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Course content may include electronic billing, reimbursement issues, CPT classifications and/or pharmacology.

Special assignments may be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/

Required Qualifications:

Expert skills, knowledge, experience, and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Applicants must be currently credentialed as CCS, RHIT or RHIA and have at least two years of coding experience. Minimum

Education Required:

Must be a currently certified coding specialist (CCS) and have three years of hospital coding experience. Additional Considerations:
Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online teaching. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of coding experience, coding teaching experience. Current Registered Health Information Administrator or Health Information Technician Certificate and an Associate’s Degree. Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel. To and from any college campus/site location as assigned.
