Position Overview

Adjunct Instructor – Agriculture & Hospitality. Part‑time, on‑campus location in Albemarle, Virginia.

• Provide effective didactic and skills instruction for adult learners in agriculture and hospitality fields.
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment by adhering to institutional policies and procedures.
• Offer review, remediation, and office hour sessions; maintain participation and performance records.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, and professional development.
• Respond timely to student, staff, partner inquiries, and report incidents.
• Assist in student recruitment activities and partner onboarding requirements.
• Maintain professional competence, certifications, and licensure as required.

• At least two (2) years of occupational experience in the proposed teaching area.
• Combination of education and industry credentials demonstrating content expertise.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.

• Experience teaching adult learners or in a community college environment.
• Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Current CPR/First aid certification.

No telework options. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. No supervisory responsibilities. No required travel beyond college campuses.
