Position Overview
Adjunct Instructor – Agriculture & Hospitality. Part‑time, on‑campus location in Albemarle, Virginia.
Responsibilities- Provide effective didactic and skills instruction for adult learners in agriculture and hospitality fields.
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment by adhering to institutional policies and procedures.
- Offer review, remediation, and office hour sessions; maintain participation and performance records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, and professional development.
- Respond timely to student, staff, partner inquiries, and report incidents.
- Assist in student recruitment activities and partner onboarding requirements.
- Maintain professional competence, certifications, and licensure as required.
- At least two (2) years of occupational experience in the proposed teaching area.
- Combination of education and industry credentials demonstrating content expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.
- Experience teaching adult learners or in a community college environment.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
- Current CPR/First aid certification.
No telework options. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. No supervisory responsibilities. No required travel beyond college campuses.
