Adjunct Faculty Pool - Communication Studies

Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college‑level courses, which may include distance‑learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face‑to‑face instruction with the possibility of remote instruction.

Teaching of “Principles of Public Speaking” in the Higher Education in Prison Program, delivering coursework to incarcerated learners at Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn Correctional Centers.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned and may assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Master’s degree in Communication Studies or equivalent with 18 graduate semester hours in Communication Studies.
• Two years of teaching experience or related work experience in the field and experience with online teaching.
• Ph.D. in Communication Studies (preferred).
