Senior Fire Engineer - Tunnel Ventilation
AECOM Spain Building Engineering team is a highly qualified group of professionals, experts in offering the best solutions to international client's needs all around the world.
Our team, as part of the continued growth of our business, is looking for an experienced Tunnel Ventilation Specialist who is looking to further develop his/her experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects as well as client consultancy. These projects span a diverse range of construction sectors including among others, Rail, Highways, Industrial, Healthcare, Leisure, Aviation, Commercial and Defense.
Working within an energetic, diverse and driven team, you will be part of our project delivery, and your contribution will be key to mentoring junior colleagues and managing moderate to large scale projects.
This position is based in our delightful office in Madrid or Barcelona (Hybrid Remote Model).
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare engineering calculations for the design.
- Design drawings and specifications of mechanical ventilation systems for tunnels in a diverse range of projects.
- Ensure accuracy of design and contract documents.
- Collaboration with other disciplines and teams within the company.
- Attending relevant meetings as needed.
- Innovative mechanical design and modeling.
- Computerized flow analyses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or equivalent engineering degree.
- Demonstrable and relevant experience in designing Fire protection systems, with focus in tunnel and mechanical ventilation is essential.
- Fluent English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Intern engineer certificate
- Knowledge of CAD software and tools such as SES, CFD, and FDS programs.
- Familiarity with fans, controls and fire life safety codes and standards (NFPA, AMCA, ASHRAE).
- Familiar with BIM
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-motivated and experienced in performing calculations.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
