The Domestic Transportation business line in Spain has a team of highly specialized engineers in civil infrastructure and transport, working on key projects in roads, railways, airports, and urban planning, among others. We are committed to technical excellence and act as a strategic partner to our clients, delivering innovative solutions in complex projects at both national and international levels.

We are hiring a Senior Tunnel Engineer to become part of the Geotechnical discipline. Our team delivers ground engineering & tunnelling assessments and designs from concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed development across a diverse portfolio, including roads and railways infrastructure, stations, buildings, and high-rise structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and supervision of tunnel projects in case of both, rock or soils, including preparation of drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience in different construction methods for tunnelling such as: TBM, NATM, SCL.
• Design and oversee additional underground structures such as cut-and-cover tunnels, shafts, and underground stations.
• Execute tunnelling support system calculations, prepare specifications, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Coordinate complex technical challenges during tunnelling project development providing guidance on the team and client.
• Experience in case of urban environments.
• Offer technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
• Analyze geotechnical data for ground characterization, risk assessment, and calculations.
• Lead bid preparation from the tunnelling discipline perspective, covering both technical and budgetary aspects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different geographies to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of proven and recent experience in tunnelling engineering is required.
• Previous geotechnical experience will be highly valued.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English languages (spoken and written) is required.
• Skilled in geotechnical software for tunnels design such as PLAXIS 2D/3D, RS2, Roc Support
• Solid understanding of Spanish codes and international standards (AASHTO, ACI, ASTM, Eurocodes, SBC).
• International project experience is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Passion for continuous learning and professional growth, especially in geotechnical and tunnelling engineering.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in culturally diverse and technically demanding environments.
