Description:
From Ferrovial Construction, we are looking to hire a Global Environmental Manager on our Headquarters. The objective of this position is to ensure the proper implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System, working closely with Env managers at the regional/country level, central services, and subsidiary companies.
- Support the environmental managers in implementing the system on construction sites.
- Coordinate and supervise their activities.
- Provide technical advice on environmental management, assurance, and control.
- Resolve NCRs and mitigate environmental risks.
- Coordination with the sustainability area regarding shared issues (Energy, CO2 footprint, waste management)
- Collaborate with the procurement department on environmental matters in bids.
- Verify compliance with procedures at an international level.
- Conduct follow-ups with country managers and internal audits on major projects.
- Analyze deviations in system indicators, NCRs, and sanctions.
- Ensure periodic reporting of system indicators.
- Participate in the definition and monitoring of general company objectives.
- Propose preventive and corrective actions to improve processes.
- Draft and update procedures and operational documents.
- Use tools such as InSite, Doc Site, and Power BI for reporting, archiving, and analysis.
- Promote digital tools within the system.
- Design training content in collaboration with HR.
- Organize courses and webinars focused on continuous improvement.
- Participate in technical committees.
- Research best practices in other sectors.
- Support relationships with certification bodies.
- University degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or similar. Specific training in quality, environmental, and energy management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001).
- High level of English.
- Priority residence in Madrid. Flexibility
- Over 5 years of experience in site-based roles related to monitoring Quality and Environmental Plans on large projects. Experience managing site Quality and Environmental teams. Collaboration with production teams in implementing systems and resolving NCRs and environmental incidents.
- Deep knowledge of Ferrovial Construction's Quality and Environmental Management System procedures and instructions.
- Ability to provide technical and regulatory advice.
- Strong interdepartmental coordination skills.
- International role, availability to travel
