¿ Cuáles serán tus principales funciones?

We are looking for two people to join us for the execution of an innovation project in the field of access to energy in humanitarian contexts.

The project, executed in alliance with an internationally recognized NGOD of the humanitarian sector, aims to improve the capacity of humanitarian organizations to meet electricity needs in emergency contexts using renewable energy sources. A tool will be developed to allow humanitarian actors to size their energy demand and identify sustainable solutions to meet it, which will be validated in an intervention in the Philippines.

The Technical Energy Specialists in Humanitarian Projects will join the project team to support in the identification of pre-existing solutions and applicable regulations and subsequently carry out and, in particular, perform the following functions:

  • Research on solutions developed in other sectors and/or regions that allow the characterization of demand and simulation of generation alternatives
  • Study of methods and tools for the sizing of electric power generation sources and simulation of operation scenarios
  • Study of the energy demand of humanitarian actors in emergency contexts.
  • Study of the applicable regulations for access to energy solutions in humanitarian action emergencies
  • Evaluation of different electrification technologies and heating/cooking. Search for providers of existing off-grid electricity access solutions. Analysis of adequacy of different solutions and evaluation in accordance with corresponding regulations and certifications.
  • Literature review on access to energy in vulnerable and humanitarian contexts and identification of good practices, trends and key impact factors.
  • Elaboration of manuals, good practices, guides, recommendations and procedures.
  • Support in the management and follow-up of the project, in accordance with the requirements established by acciona.org and by external funding sources.
What We Offer
  • Work with headquarters in Madrid (Spain) in a Spanish multinational, with availability for international travel
  • Two positions: one for identification of solutions and a more research-oriented work and another for technical evaluation of such solutions and project coordination with everything related to execution.
  • Contract of 12-24 months duration (with possibility to continue within the company)
  • Competitive remuneration according to the profile of the selected person.
  • One day of telework per week and flexible schedule
  • Company cafeteria

We are a company that values diversity as a source of talent and therefore we work to promote an inclusive environment in which respect, belonging and commitment are promoted so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis. We invite everyone to register regardless of origin, circumstances, background or condition.
