Taylor House, A Thrive More of NC Community is currently seeking a part-time Housekeeper and Cook, to assist in our Assisted Living Community located in Albemarle, NC. This person will be crossed trained and utilized primarily in Housekeeping.

Schedule

Housekeeping
- Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts, 7am-3pm, with weekend rotations
Cook- 12 hour shifts, 6:30am- 7pm, variable schedule
Weekend availability is required

Responsibilities: HOUSEKEEPING

Clean all bathrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories and fixtures in apartment and common areas
Vacuum carpeted areas and mop tile floors
Spot clean walls and windows
Dust furniture and empty trash cans
Clean baseboards, pictures, lights and HVAC Vents
Honor any additional housekeeping request made by the residents during the allotted time
Assist with picking up trash
Assist with activity room set-ups, will require movement of furniture
Report any pertinent information to management directly related to the well-being of the resident
Perform any additional housekeeping tasks as necessary

Responsibilities: COOK

Review menu, assembles food supplies and equipment for daily food production following instructions and assignment by lead cook or supervisor.

* Follows recipe and other production information to complete preparation of assigned menu items.

* Reads menu to determine food requirements and procedures food from storage.

Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.

* Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.

* Observes and tests food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked according to standard recipe.

Qualifications:

HOUSEKEEPING

At least one year of housekeeping experience, required
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
Must be able to speak and understand English in order to communicate with supervisors and residents

Qualifications:

COOK

* Prior experience as cook or in food preparation.
* Ability to read and follow recipes and food production records.
* Must be 18 years of age or above.
* Must be able to use the English language to satisfy the communications and record keeping requirements involved in the performance of this job position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must maintain neat, well-groomed appearance adhering to dress code of the facility,
Must satisfy all established licensing and certification requirements applicable to this job position.
* Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Must comply with facility’s drug testing and substance abuse program and policies.
