Incident Response Analyst
$30-60/hr Remote Freelance CODING
About the RoleYour experience triaging alerts and investigating incidents is exactly what's needed to make AI smarter about cybersecurity. At Alignerr, we partner with leading AI research labs to build and evaluate AI systems — and we need seasoned security professionals to ensure those systems reflect how real incident response teams operate.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your hands-on knowledge of security operations directly shapes the next generation of AI-driven investigation tools.

- Analyze realistic security events, alerts, and incident cases to evaluate AI-generated responses
- Assess impact, root cause, and appropriate remediation steps for simulated incidents
- Review and validate detection rules, alerting pipelines, and investigative playbooks
- Identify gaps where AI-generated analysis diverges from real-world security operations
- Provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves AI accuracy and reliability
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
- 2+ years of experience in SOC, incident response, or security operations
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, alert queues, and investigation tooling
- Strong ability to triage and prioritize — separating meaningful threats from noise
- Clear written communication skills for structured feedback
- Comfortable working independently on task-based assignments
- Experience with threat hunting, digital forensics, or purple team exercises
- Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or similar
- Background in cloud security, endpoint detection, or network forensics
- Prior involvement in playbook development or SOC process improvement
- Work on frontier AI systems alongside world-class research teams
