- Travel position with varying shifts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 18 months Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience (stroke experience preferred)
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Proficiency in: cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, IV/PIV starts, NGT placement, drain/tube and medication gtt management
- Comfortable managing 1:5-6 patient ratios; ability to adapt to higher ratios during surge staffing
- Flexibility to float within the region when needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse Med Surg/Tele patient population (stroke, COPD, chest pain, GI bleed, altered mental status)
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care; perform NIH stroke assessments; monitor cardiac rhythms
- Start IVs, manage chest tubes, and maintain patient safety with accurate documentation in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and hospitalists; participate in positive team culture
- Float to other regional units as required, remaining adaptable and resilient
