American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a 16-bed Emergency Department within a 109-bed hospital that is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center with no trauma designation
- Treat pediatric and adult patients presenting with COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, and minor trauma
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity, with CNA ratio of 1:10
- 12-hour night shift schedule from , totaling 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required on an every-other-weekend basis
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within Region 1, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH)
- Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT and hospitalist coverage, and dedicated ED physician team
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI may be obtained within 30 days of starting)
- TNCC certification preferred
- General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, ventilator management, chest tube care, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Provide emergency department nursing care across a broad range of pediatric and adult acute conditions
- Facility is located in Albemarle, NC, about an hour from Charlotte, NC
- Traveler's permanent address must be at least 50 miles outside the home unit to be eligible
- Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered
- Candidates who previously worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before eligibility
