American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details- 16-bed Emergency Department in a 109-licensed-bed hospital with no trauma designation
- Facility is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and is not a teaching hospital
- Treats pediatric and adult patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, and minor trauma
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
- 12-hour night shift schedule ) at 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within Region 1, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH)
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Support staff includes CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physician team
- Bedside and central telemetry monitoring available
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- TNCC certification preferred
- General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Provide emergency care to a mixed pediatric and adult patient population with a wide range of acute diagnoses
- Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any unmet contracted hours added to the end of the assignment
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered
- Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position there
