The Truck Service Advisor (TSA) is the primary link between truck owners and our service team at Trails Truck Service. This role is responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience by gathering customer concerns, preparing repair orders, coordinating repairs, and maintaining clear communication throughout the service process. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and comfortable explaining technical information in a clear, professional manner while identifying opportunities to recommend additional parts and services.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Interaction
- Greet customers professionally and build strong rapport
- Listen carefully to customer concerns
- Ensure a positive, trust-building service experience
Work Order Management
- Write clear, accurate repair orders with cost and time estimates
- Obtain customer authorizations and signatures
- Process payments and manage internal and external parts orders
Communication
- Translate technical diagnoses and repairs into easy-to-understand language
- Explain charges, timelines, and service recommendations
- Provide regular updates on vehicle repair status
Sales & Upselling
- Recommend additional maintenance, parts, and services as appropriate
- Practice effective suggestive selling to improve vehicle reliability and customer satisfaction
Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule service appointments efficiently
- Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to maintain workflow
- Monitor repair progress to ensure timely completion
Follow-Up
- Contact customers after service completion to ensure satisfaction
- Address any additional concerns and encourage repeat business
Skills & Qualifications- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with empathy, patience, and problem-solving ability
- Basic technical knowledge of heavy- and medium-duty trucks and manufacturer specifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proven or demonstrated sales and upselling ability
- Computer proficiency, including familiarity with service management software
