The full pay range for this role is $95,200 - $158,700 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $120,000 to $132,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
Scope of JobThe Technical Safety Instructor is a highly specialized role responsible for leading the design, development, delivery, and compliance of all safety and technical training programs. This role ensures full compliance with OSHA (USA) and Canadian Provincial safety regulations, integrates training in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), and focuses heavily on the technical competence required for Renewable Energy Technicians (e.g., wind, solar, storage).
The role requires a tenured candidate with a multi‑disciplinary HSES approach with extensive technical field experience in the renewable energy sector of wind, solar, & Battery Energy Storage Systems, as well as a vast experience in training, curriculum development, and professional development initiatives.
- Strategic Program Development:
Develops and implements new training products, processes, standards, and operational plans that will have a significant impact on the company’s and broader industry’s safety standards. Advises Asset Optimization safety training strategy and selects methods and techniques to achieve measurable results. - Technical Subject Matter Expertise:
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical training in renewable energy systems (wind, solar, and BESS) and international safety compliance. The instructor must be able to read regulations and translate them into practical field training applications for technicians in the U.S. and Canada. Responsibilities include defining U.S. compliance requirements, achieving expert‑level knowledge in Canadian provincial regulations, collaborating with Canadian HSE teams, and designing/building certification programs to meet all instructional, compliance, and regulatory requirements. - Team Leadership and Mentorship:
Leads and oversees other technical training specialists in the incorporation of safety‑related tasks and practical demonstrations to ensure effective kinesthetic learning. Provides coaching, mentoring, and strategic direction to empower the team and drive consistent, high‑quality training outcomes. - Instructional Design Responsibility:
