The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-in-Training is a paid training position designed to prepare the candidate to successfully pass the National Registry of EMTs exams to become a certified EMT. Candidates in the program must meet all expectations of the training program including but not limited to attendance, didactic content grade requirements, skills, and affective domains, as well as all Mayo Clinic policies.
Upon successful completion of the training program applicants would be eligible to apply for a full-time position with Mayo Clinic Ambulance - Austin/Albert Lea, Fairmont or Owatonna. An EMT is responsible for delivering and administering high quality care and transportation to ill and injured persons. The EMT must demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing for physical and emotional needs of patients.

- Must attach resume and cover letter to be considered.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must be proficient in English; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be eligible for certification with National Registry of EMTs by passing Mayo Clinic criminal background checks.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.
