Job SummaryThe Skilled Rehab and Home Health at Good Samaritan SE MN seeks to hire an Occupational Therapist to join our team. The position is full time, 35-40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday with flexible weekend and holiday assignments, covering the Comfort Care Skilled Nursing Facility in Austin, MN and Good Samaritan Society St. Ansgar, IA, and assisting as needed in GSS Albert Lea and Home Health.
Responsibilities include assessing clients, patients, and residents; designing occupational therapy treatments; conducting evaluations; providing interventions for functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments; evaluating physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities; developing realistic therapy goals; administering appropriate occupational therapy programs; documenting client information; providing education to enhance functional outcomes; applying current research to daily treatment; documenting in accordance with departmental guidelines; adhering to regulatory and clinical practice guidelines;
demonstrating flexibility with variable schedules; promoting the department and organization; interacting with providers, case managers, family members, payers, and public organizations; supervising assistants, aides, and students; providing ongoing education and training to peers; and performing other related duties as requested by management.
The work may focus on post‑acute, long‑term care, and home health care environments, depending on facility and location.
Qualifications- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as an Occupational Therapist.
- When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities): must also be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- When applicable, may require a valid driver’s license.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
- In South Dakota and Iowa, new graduates testing with the board will be considered with a temporary license.
