Position Summary
The Welder is responsible for performing high‑quality welding operations in support of JPW’s production and fabrication activities. This position requires proficiency in reading blueprints, operating welding equipment, and ensuring parts meet specifications using precision measuring tools. The Welder will work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to fabricate components with accuracy, safety, and efficiency.

- Perform TIG and MIG welding operations on a variety of metals in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Execute additional fabrication tasks such as soldering, forming, sawing, shearing, polishing, roll forming, and brake press operations as required per job order.
- Operate and program robotic welding equipment with accuracy and efficiency.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding specifications to determine material requirements and appropriate welding techniques.
- Utilize precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure dimensional accuracy and part quality.
- Prepare and maintain welding jigs and build custom fixture jigs as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of work performed, including production logs and quality reports.
- Ensure all work meets company safety and quality standards, complying with operational best practices.
- Actively support JPW’s core values, fostering a positive, accountable, and engaged work environment.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
- Welding certification or formal welding training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of TIG and MIG welding experience required.
- Experience with robotic welding systems strongly preferred.
- Strong fabrication and metalworking skills; ability to perform a range of manual and machine‑based tasks.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with welding safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
- Adaptability in a dynamic and fast‑paced production setting.
- Flexibility and dedication to working extended hours when needed to meet urgent operational deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, bend, reach, kneel or crouch, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing/fabrication environment, with exposure to welding equipment, noise, heat, and metal particulates. Working extended and flexible hours may be requested occasionally.
