Overview
Assembler position at ALMCO / Innovance in Albert Lea, Minnesota, United States. Responsible for assembling components to create finished products following specifications and quality standards.
Position DescriptionPerform sub-assembly and final assembly on mechanical and electrical assemblies using calibrated equipment, drawings, schematics, and written/verbal instructions. Maintain documentation, work procedures, and read blueprints to identify non-conformance.
Essential Functions- Utilize hand tools, power tools and hardware to assemble and wire standard and engineered products to customer specifications and quality standards with supervision or training.
- Apply acquired electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trade skills to complete assembly.
- Set up jobs by obtaining necessary parts, drawings, and schematics; check parts against the bill of materials; read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Communicate with engineers, designers, and technicians to resolve assembly discrepancies.
- Perform ongoing inspection during assembly and wiring and prior to shipment.
- Lift and position assemblies; operate overhead hoist/crane as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Set up and perform Assembly Department operations with minimum supervision.
- Familiar with mechanical and electromechanical components; thorough understanding of part prints (tolerances, symbols).
- Perform checks for quality of parts and make adjustments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Entry level or 1-2 years of assembly experience
- Familiar with mechanical and electromechanical components
- Able to read and interpret routings, bills of materials, assembly drawings, work instructions
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a team setting
- A positive can-do attitude
- Strong motivation and communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Refuse to be satisfied with average performance
- Other duties as assigned
Applicable training will be completed by following the syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS - Timeclock, IFS - Navigation) for each new hire and verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment. The Assembly Training Matrix (F4400-35) will guide training, with effectiveness determined by knowledge and demonstration. Additional training after the initial weeks will be determined by the Supervisor and provided as needed, with follow-up evaluation at 60-day review or as necessary.

Salary Information$20 - $26 hourly wage
