CNC Machinist - 2nd shift

About this positionLou‑Rich is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Operator for the second shift. The operator will be responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining computer‑controlled machinery, ensuring the production of high‑quality precision parts.
Essential Functions- Operate CNC machine tools with single or multiple spindles safely.
- Monitor and control machining quality using hand inspection equipment.
- Maintain production processes and meet established efficiencies.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Use machine controls to cycle machines through production operations, set up, adjust tool positions, and change tools.
- Set up and change tools in holders using tool‑presetting equipment.
- Perform first‑piece sample inspection according to the operation control plan using qualified measuring devices.
- Maintain lubricants and coolants used in daily operation.
- Keep the work area clean and efficient.
- Operate all common machine‑shop equipment and hand tools skillfully.
- Must be on feet most of the day, using hands for handling objects or tools; frequently walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Requires close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Should work near moving mechanical parts and electrically activated devices.
- Occasionally exposed to airborne particles.
- Perform basic math skills and understand decimals, fractions, metric/English conversions.
- Overtime typically voluntary but may be required during busy periods.
- Operate overhead hoist/crane to move parts in and out of fixtures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must pass a pre‑employment screening, including drug screen.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Complete required training syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS – Time clock, IFS - Navigation, ISO, Inspection Hand Tools, Inspection Forms, CMM, Technical) within the first 60 days.
- Follow the technical training syllabus and demonstrate knowledge; additional training may be provided at the 60‑day review or as needed.
The position requires regularly using hands or fingers, talking, hearing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
