Maintenance Technician

Position Information: 1.0 FTE/52 Weeks Monday
- Friday Troubleshoots, replaces and/or implements repairs and preventive maintenance in response to work orders and requests across the district. Repairs and/or replaces windows. Repairs or replaces exit devices, door closers, locks, latching mechanisms, etc. Troubleshoots and responds to heating and cooling issues and problems Performs a variety of carpentry projects and activities across the district. Builds custom cabinetry for classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, etc.

Designs and draws up project plans; estimates material needs and costs; purchases materials and supplies from vendors; and installs cabinetry projects. Remodels classrooms, meeting areas and offices across the district. Adds and/or removes walls, doors, and cabinets. Patches floors and ceilings; tapes and paints sheetrock, etc. Maintains clean and safe work areas and shop areas to minimize risks and hazards.

Maintains shop tools, supplies and materials. Assists with the conduct of periodic asbestos inspections every six months. Monitors and/or repairs problem areas identified by the inspections. Installs new, repairs and/or replaces playground equipment. Prioritizes and follows up on all work orders based upon its safety issue and requested complete date. Plans and implements repairs so as to avoid disruption of building functions and activities.

Estimates cost of materials and time to address repairs caused by student damages or vandalism to determine restitution requirements. Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.

Pay Range: B23 $ 19.64-$26.00 of
