Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be based out of the Albertville, AL area. Under supervision from the Inplant Manager, the Regional Inplant Support Rep. (RISR) is responsible for performing in‑plant operations including color matching, blending, and producing. Responsibilities also include quality control of inks made and used at the customer location that include paste, water‑based, and solvent flexographic ink. The RISR also provides press‑side technical assistance, orders materials, and manages inventory.

Acts as liaison between the customer and Sun Chemical.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides manufacturing and operational support to Sun Chemical in‑plants in the Albertville, AL area(s). Performs all in‑plant duties, including batch production, color matching, inventory management, formula management, site‑specific reporting, and Sun Chemical reporting.
  • Learns, and complies with all safety requirements, including the use of PPE, safe material handling, MSDS management, housekeeping, and general safety procedures.
  • Implements Sun Chemical in‑plant procedures and the best practices as directed by Inplant Manager, Regional Inplant Operations Manager, or Senior CTS Technicians.
  • Performs in‑plant assessments (audit) at in‑plants in this region as directed by the Regional Inplant Operations Manager.
  • Participates in transitional activities related to new business opportunities, or capital projects within the region at the direction of senior CTS Technicians, and the Regional Inplant Operations Manager. This may include shift work, in‑plant management, equipment installation/de‑commissioning, and implementation of SOP’s.
  • Completes monthly training activities as assigned. This includes web‑based training (e‑path learning tool) modules and field training activities with CTS Technicians.
  • Supports CTS team as directed by CTS technicians and Regional Inplant Operations Manager. This may include trial support, complaint investigation, and identifying customer needs and concerns.
  • Contributes technical information, reviews overall progress through daily follow‑up, and provides technical assistance (intelligence) to in‑plant management.
  • Logs all field activity in the Sun Chemical CRM tool (). Completes technical call reports and trial reports as needed, including both internal and external documentation.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • In‑plant work experience required.
  • Must have good color vision and be able to match colors in various ink systems.
  • Must have good customer presence and ability to work in various manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with in‑plant SOPs; and familiar with standard manufacturing safety procedures.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Broad experience with ink systems, and printing technologies.
  • Process improvement training preferred (Six Sigma, 5S, Lean, Kepner Tregoe, QA, etc.).
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Non‑exempt. Day shift; work schedule will vary based on business need.
