Portioning Supervisor (2nd Shift) – Albertville, AL

Primary Responsibility:
The Portioning Supervisor reports to the Production Superintendent and is responsible for ensuring that production on the assigned line runs efficiently and safely to meet customer needs and specifications.
- Supervise a team of hourly hand portioners.
- Responsible for safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions for the assigned shift.
- Follow and enforce the company’s policies & procedures, Food Safety Guidelines, and GMP procedures.
- Work with other departments on the assigned shift to ensure all customer specifications and USDA requirements are met.
- Complete daily reporting for the shift, including employee time edits.
- Maximize yields and through puts while maintaining quality standards.
- Participate in interviews for open positions.
- Ensure safety and job‑specific training are conducted on the assigned shift.
- Ensure the shift is prepared for customer and BRC audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Manage a safety‑sensitive position.
- Supervisory experience.
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience in poultry operations.
- Demonstrated critical‑thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to build relationships and influence to get results.
- Experience in portioning or portioning operations.
- Bi‑lingual a plus.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university preferred, or two to three years of relevant experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
ReasoningAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsKnowledge of payroll systems, spreadsheet software, and Word‑processing software.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
Work EnvironmentExposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; occasional exposure to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; vibration; and typically loud noise levels.
