Chick Room Lead - Albertville

JOB DESCRIPTION cHICK ROOM lEAD

• Must have excellent attendance habits.
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be fluent in English
• Must be able to check all equipment for readiness prior to start up and breaks, as well as ensure all team members are in place for processing
• Will be required to help with the process of grading the chicks and the takeoff of boxes
• Must be able to take boxes of chicks from the counter lines and stack onto metal pallets up to 15 high. Boxes of chicks weigh 10lbs a box (also boxes picked up at knee height and can be set down from 5" from the floor to a height of 5’ from the floor.) and to push or pull a full dolly of chicks to the chick holding room.
  
  These dollies can weigh from
  1200 lbs. but are on wheels

• Must be able to count and taking inventory of each flock, make vaccine every 40min and count chicks every hour as they stack boxes and weigh chick boxes, as well as other animal welfare checks

• Must be able to perform cleanup of the rooms, floors, and chick belts as required after chick processing is done
• Must be able to clean the vaccine rooms, vaccine equipment, and change tubing weekly.
• Must be able to keep accurate vaccine count and nitrogen levels

• Work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:45am until thejob is done. Wednesday occasionally. Must be able to work holidays as scheduled. Sundays may be scheduled at times during the year to work around holidays. Sometimes time varies if schedule changes, but there will be advanced notice. Sanitation will be working with cleaners and disinfectants. Must follow all safety rules.
• Work areas are warm at times to maintain conditions that are comfortable for the chicks and dusty environment
• All other tasks that are assigned by management related to chick processing and hatchery.
