Retail Associate

About the Position

$15 per hour starting; flexible retail schedules with advancement opportunities. Minimum age 16. The role supports Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions and includes responsibilities such as ensuring product availability, visual merchandising, and a positive in‑store experience.

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to consumer questions or issues regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with consumers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform all required cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, connecting consumer to loyalty program) efficiently and accurately.
• Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow in the stores accurately and efficiently.

• No specific education required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or less years of experience in a similar position.
• Skill operating inventory and point of sale (POS) systems and various retail software tools.
• Age 16 or older.

• Active environment requiring constant movement; may involve lifting or moving items up to 40 lbs.
• May use specialized equipment and be exposed to dust and noise.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others and work a flexible retail schedule that may vary seasonally or according to business needs.

Pay range: $15.00 – $21.60. Expected pay range for hire: $15.00 – $16.00. Newly hired employees begin at the store‑specific start rate; prior experience may be considered.
