Job Description & How to Apply Below
Albion College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, beginning in fall 2026. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Albion is dedicated to the highest quality in undergraduate education led by our teacher-scholar faculty. Our teacher-scholar model creates a vibrant community that cherishes faculty and student relationships and faculty scholarly contributions.
We seek applicants with a passion for dynamic teaching, committed mentorship of students, and the liberal arts.
We seek a candidate with expertise in Asian and Comparative Religion. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester and will include both introductory survey courses in religion and upper level courses in the candidate's area of specialization. The area of specialization may be any major Asian religious tradition, but teaching competence in Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, new religious movements, and/or Asian religious diasporas is desirable.
We encourage applications from individuals who will help us create a more inclusive Albion College by showing interest in developing inclusive pedagogies to address the needs of a diverse student body and, when possible, demonstrating excellence with successful creative activity, scholarship or research that involves students.
