Job Description

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Location:
Albion, Michigan – This is a full-time, on-site leadership role where you'll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Note:
Applicants must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, 3+ years of hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience, and at least 1 year of experience supervising a weld shop or welding team.

Job Description

• Lead daily weld shop operations, workflow, and production scheduling.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop welders and fabrication personnel.
• Inspect welds and fabricated components to ensure quality and code compliance.
• Review fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes, inspection requirements, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot welding, fabrication, and production challenges to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet manufacturing goals.
• Monitor productivity, scrap, rework, equipment performance, and safety initiatives.
• Maintain inspection documentation and quality records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the weld shop.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• 3+ years of hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience.
• 1+ year supervising a weld shop or welding team.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, inspection standards, and quality requirements.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid Works experience or the ability to review Solid Works drawings preferred.
• Experience in structural steel, metal fabrication, manufacturing, or solar-related products preferred.
